4:33 Creative Labs launches its Web3 gaming platform studio Delabs in partnership with Polygon Labs to bring exciting new Web3 games for blockchain gamers.
4:33 Creative Lab unveils the launch of Delabs, a new web3-focused venture for blockchain games. South Korean-based game developer has already surpassed more than 250 million downloads across its game globally.
In the Polygon blockchain ecosystem, Delabs will concentrate on creating and promoting games that are unique to the blockchain. It's yet another indication that South Korean game developers, who were the first to embrace free-to-play games, are fully committing to Web3 games.
In order to accomplish these objectives, Delabs has further partnered with Polygon Labs. The Web3 development business is responsible for the popular Polygon Ethereum Layer-2 scaling protocol. As a strategic partner, Delabs will be able to make use of Polygon's quick and inexpensive transactions as well as Ethereum's strong decentralization and security to easily onboard additional participants.
Joonmo Kwon, Chairman of 4:33 Creative Lab and CEO of Delabs
“By becoming a flagship partner of Polygon, Delabs is poised to make significant strides in advancing the web3 gaming industry, providing numerous benefits and opportunities for the sector as a whole”.
He continued: “Delabs’ mission is to shake up the decentralized space with its refreshing emphasis on fostering a sense of community and enjoyment, propelling the industry towards the next generation of gaming — Game 3.0”.
"We are happy to announce our collaboration with the great team at Delabs, with the purpose of increasing the standards of Web3 gaming," said Urvit Goel, head of worldwide business development at Polygon Labs.
Web3 Gamers will Benefit from Delabs
Delabs is well-positioned to draw in millions of new players by utilizing Polygon's cutting-edge technology and to build a vibrant community where gamers can enjoy safe, seamless, and immersive gaming experiences.
Delabs will prioritize creativity, excellent user experience, and blockchain-native attributes to recreate the future of decentralized gaming. Moreover, it is led by Joonmo Kwon (aka JMK), a well-known South Korean entrepreneur and former CEO of gaming giant Nexon with six top-rated blockbuster games to his credit.
A veteran of the gaming business, Kwon supervised the debut of the hugely popular game Crazyracing Kartrider and was one of the first to grasp the potential of free-to-play mobile gaming while serving as CEO at Nexon. More than a third of the Korean populace downloaded KartRider, which amassed over 300 million downloads overall.
Kwon will Unleash his Expertise in Web3
Kwon made some notable launches that actually created new records for maximum downloads in a limited time. Romance of Three Kingdoms is one of Kwon’s record-breaking video games, crossing 30 million downloads and remaining the top seller in the telecom stores for one year.
Some other outshined launches include:
- Kart Rider (over 300 million downloads)
- Bow Master (No. 2 grossing game, 10 million battles per day)
- Blade (No. 1 on Play Store and App Store Korea, $100 million in revenue)
- Heroes (No. 1 on Play Store and AppStore Korea, $100+ million in revenue)
- Boxing Star (No. 1 boxing game for four years, $100+ million in revenue).
By utilizing Kwon's exceptional talent for predicting significant changes in the gaming industry and his proven record of successfully launching ground-breaking titles, Delabs is dedicated to developing enjoyable, interactive, and inclusive games for all players while simultaneously utilizing the full potential of blockchain. Three games are currently under development by Delabs: a racing game, an RPG survival game, and an anime-style game. Each project is being developed by professional genre-specific experts hired by Delabs, guaranteeing fans an engaging and recognizable experience.
Whether their level of familiarity with NFTs, wallets, or cryptocurrencies, all gamers will be able to enjoy superb graphics and immersive gaming experiences.
With 100 employees, Delabs is now expanding its network. Investors like Tencent and Line have contributed more than $100 million to the parent firm, 4:33.
Delabs NFT Launch on: Adventure Pass
Kwon wrote an email to GamesBeat discussing the plan:
“Our first mint is the Delabs Adventure Pass that will unite all Delabs games. Our Adventure Pass will enhance player experience across all of our games with great benefits. Web3 games are an answer to the problems in traditional games. The average player spends a lot of time and money on the games they play. What if the game goes out of service or I stop playing? What do I have now? Sure, I still had fun, but nothing else.”
According to Kwon, game businesses monetize their customers to earn billions of dollars annually. The player can enjoy a unique experience and benefit more in Web3. The corporation benefits if the player receives more value. In the end, spending money on games is an investment in enjoyable experiences rather than a sunk cost. The company's and the player's interests are compatible with web3 games. This relationship is considerably more viable under this plan. The player won't switch back to the previous paradigm once they see how much more value web3 games provide.
